Leytonstone is a district in the south of the London Borough of Waltham Forest, situated between Leyton to the west and Wanstead to the east. The area is characterised by Victorian terraced housing, a busy high street and excellent transport links via the Central line. Leytonstone is perhaps best known as the birthplace of film director Sir Alfred Hitchcock, and the neighbourhood retains a strong community identity while benefiting from its proximity to Epping Forest and the wider east London regeneration area.
