CheckPostcode

About

What this site is, and how we put it together.

CheckPostcode is an independent reference directory. Our aim is simple: give every UK postcode a single, clear page that gathers the practical things people actually look for — where it is on the map, how to get there, and the hospitals, schools, shops, transport and local data nearby.

How we compile information

Each page is assembled from publicly available information about the postcode and the area around it. We organise it into a consistent structure so pages are easy to scan and compare. Sections only appear when there is something real to show — a quiet residential postcode will have fewer entries than a busy town centre, and that is intentional.

Before a page is published it is reviewed, and we cross-check key facts against the primary sources listed on our Data sources page. We favour stable, verifiable details (geography, stations, landmarks, institutions) and clearly treat changeable figures, such as prices, as indicative.

Accuracy & corrections

We work hard to be accurate, but local information changes and no directory is perfect. Distances and figures are a guide — for anything important, please confirm with the official source or provider. If you spot something wrong or out of date, please tell us via the contact page and we will look into it.

Coverage

We are expanding coverage steadily, prioritising the areas people search for most. If a postcode you are looking for is not live yet, it may simply be one we have not published.

Who runs this

This site is operated independently. (Edit this section in the admin area to add your organisation name and a short line about who is behind the site — this helps both visitors and search engines trust the source.)
